Who We Are
Industrial Power & Control Inc. was founded in Guelph Ontario. We trace our origins to Canadian Howell, the original manufacturer of SAF-T-BAR conductor bar. The company relocated to Cambridge, Ontario in 2012 to be closer to Canada's most active industrial manufacturing corridor, home to automotive, aerospace, and heavy manufacturing operations that depend on reliable overhead crane infrastructure every day.
We are a specialist, not a generalist. Where national electrical distributors typically don’t stock crane component SKUs, Industrial Power & Control stocks thousands of parts across every major crane electrification category and brand: conductor bar, festoon systems, pendant control stations, variable frequency drives, rotary limit switches, radio remote controls, cable and hose carriers, slip rings, cable reels, and load monitoring systems. Our depth of inventory and product knowledge means Canadian buyers get the right part, correctly specified, from a supplier who understands how crane systems actually work.
We also manufacture custom systems in-house at our Cambridge facility — providing shorter lead times on engineered-to-order conductor bar kits, custom festoon assemblies, and load monitoring solutions that off-the-shelf distributors cannot supply.

SAF-T-BAR Conductor Bar: Canada's Most Trusted Source
When Canadian crane professionals specify SAF-T-BAR, they call Industrial Power & Control. We have supplied SAF-T-BAR conductor bar systems to Canadian industry longer than any other distributor, building the deep stock levels, application knowledge, and technical support that the market has come to rely on.
The SAF-T-BAR system is one of the most respected conductor bar solutions for overhead cranes, hoists, monorails, conveyors, and automated storage systems in North America. Available in Series C, Series T, Series H, and Series J configurations covering 65 to 1500 Ampere applications. Industrial Power & Control stocks complete systems, replacement parts & accessories, and offers custom in-house roll formed curves for monorail applications from our Cambridge, Ontario warehouse — ready to ship to any Canadian address.

Tecno Elettrica Ravasi (TER) Rotary Limit Switches: Canada's Go-To Source
TER rotary limit switches provide precise motion control for overhead cranes, hoists, and industrial machinery, measuring shaft rotation angle and revolution count to deliver safe, accurate machine operation. Industrial Power & Control stocks the full TER range including Base, Fox, Oscar, and Top series. Need a non-standard revolution ratio? No problem. We stock and assemble all components to build non-standard ratios in-house.
Canadian crane builders and maintenance teams have sourced TER limit switches through Industrial Power & Control for decades. Our inventory depth, technical expertise, and same-day shipping capability on in-stock items make us the only call for TER in Canada . Our application knowledge ensures you get the right series for your specific installation.

In-House Manufacturing Capability
Industrial Power & Control’s Cambridge facility includes in-house manufacturing and assembly capability that allows us to produce custom crane electrification systems to order — with lead times that can’t be matched.
Custom capabilities include conductor bar kits pre-assembled to your runway specifications, custom festoon cable assemblies, pendant control stations configured to your operating requirements, wire rope overload detection systems, and heavy-duty crane scales up to 100,000 lbs. Our in-house SAF-LIFT brand covers load monitoring and crane safety products engineered and built in Cambridge, Ontario.
Industrial Power & Control specializes in configuring and assembling customized mobile electrification and crane power-delivery solutions using established industrial components and conductor systems. This manufacturing depth means Industrial Power & Control can support both standard stock orders and complex engineered applications — making us the single source for crane builders, industrial integrators, and facility maintenance programs across Canada.

Technical Support
Our team brings over 50 years of crane electrification application knowledge. We offer pre-sale technical support for product selection, system design guidance, and cross-referencing for replacement parts. When you call Industrial Power & Control, you reach someone who understands crane systems, not a general customer service representative reading from a script.
Why Canadian Buyers Choose Industrial Power & Control
-
The Only SAF-T-BAR, TER, Power Electronics, Control Chief, Crane Sentry, and SAF-LIFT Inventory in Canada
Industrial Power & Control has stocked and supplied these brands longer than anyone in the Canadian market. That history means better inventory depth, faster availability, and application knowledge built from thousands of real Canadian installations.
-
Canadian Stock, Canadian Pricing
All orders ship from our Cambridge, Ontario warehouse. No cross-border delays, no customs complications, no currency exposure. CAD pricing on all orders with consistent, transparent pricing for account customers.
-
Specialist Depth
Canada's national electrical distributors carry a fraction of the crane electrification SKUs Industrial Power & Control stocks. Our entire business is crane and hoist components — which means broader selection, more in-stock availability, and application knowledge that general distributors cannot match.
-
Custom Manufacturing
Standard parts ship from stock. Non-standard products are engineered and assembled at our Cambridge facility — reducing lead times, eliminating import dependency, and supporting projects that off-the-shelf sourcing cannot serve.
-
Coast-to-Coast Reach
We ship to all ten provinces and three territories. Whether your crane is in a Windsor automotive plant, a Fort McMurray oil sands facility, a Vancouver port terminal, or a Moncton food processing plant, Industrial Power & Control can supply it.
-
Fifty Years of Trust
Market leadership is earned through decades of reliable supply, honest technical advice, and showing up for Canadian industry when it counts. Industrial Power & Control has been doing that from Cambridge, Ontario since before most of our competitors existed.
